Diary - March 2013

Spring?!

As its March, the horses have been turned out on our precious Summer paddocks today - for all the wrong reasons!!! (The ground is frozen!)

The Horses

Jewel has settled very well in her new home, and the others don't seem to be missing her - not even her full sister Rosie - so Jewel's new home must be ok I reckon.

I will be advertising Bunny (Serenity) and McGee soon, although a lot of me wants to hang on for another year so that I can start their ridden training off myself.

In the meantime, Alfie is receiving lots of my attention, and we are enjoying schooling and hacks out together regularly. Alfie looks, and obviously feels, great.

And Tez, back up to normal work and a joy to ride!

The Yard

The new regime of Hugh and I taking back the yard is nigh. Our new employees are due to start with us very soon, with a few weeks of transition taking place before Leigh becomes a Gilfach livery!

Talking of liveries, our livery numbers are about to increase with another local Lusitano joining the yard. I think he will feel very much at home with all the other Luso company here.

Finally, our delightful chickens are between them now producing 2 or 3 eggs a day, but much more importantly, provide us with a great deal of entertainment with their chicken-like antics!

We look forward to welcoming you to Gilfach in 2013.
