Diary - End of May 2014
Summer's on its way! (?)
We all benefitted from a fantastic weather week mid May, with Sheila and Hugh taking full advantage of the quieter yard and our highly proficient staff (Kristyna and Vaclav) being able to hold the reins for us, whilst holidaying in Jersey.
A further push is being made at the moment to find suitably brilliant homes for some of the horses here at Gilfach. Heartbreaking for me, but now necessary. You may see Tez advertised in the Horse and Hound magazine amongst other places, as well as few client horses. One of which is the lovely Larry! A previous Gilfach superstar, Larry has returned as a full-livery whilst a new owner is found. Larry continues to be the absolute gentleman he was in his previous existence here and deserves as a good a home again. Please do put word out for us.
Our incubating eggs failed to transform into chicks alas - but we're not giving up. More eggs have been strategically placed beneath a neighbouring broody hen...!
In the mean time three additional characters have arrived at Gilfach, Jemima, Daisy and Quwackers. The resident chickens are a little non-plussed, but I'm sure there will be enough space for all to get along fine. We are greatly looking forward to some lovely Aylesbury duck eggs for breakfast soon (if the Magpies don't get there first).
