Gilfach Farm Livery and Holiday Cottage

Diary - June 2013

"Flaming" June ??

A lovely start to June too! The trees are green, the grass growing, and flowers starting to open. Lovely!
Gilfach seems to be "benefitting" (?!) from our rather austere pasture management regime during wet/winter periods, as quite a number of ours are needing grazing muzzles already!

The Horses

All are well, happy and relaxed it seems. A few new members of the livery team have arrived. Poppy (of Welsh descent), and Bunny's mum, Firefly, has returned for a while too (Bunny was delighted to see "mum" again).
The "BIG" Gilfach horsemanship course is coming to an end. This time twentytwo students studied hard for the prize of a City and Guilds Work Based Horse Care Diploma (L1 & 2 for some!). I am donating £50 for each portfolio successfully submitted to Usk House Hospice in Brecon, you too can sponsor me here...

The Yard

The chickens are still doing their thing, and keeping us healthy with plentiful eggs and lots of amusement!

We look forward to welcoming you to Gilfach soon.
