Gilfach Farm Livery and Holiday Cottage

Diary (Beginning of December 2010)

The Weather

The snowy, and now icy conditions remain.  Access to and from Gilfach has fortunately been possible (by 4WD!), but once you get here, the yard and school remain treacherous.

Horses

With the ground conditions still dangerous, exercise of the horses is still on-hold, although fortunately all are getting a leg-stretch in the sand-turn outs.  But boredom is setting in.

Tez has recovered from the suspect virus, and is now as bored as the other horses!

The "Live-Outs" (Cherry, Timber, Zela, Floy, Bobby and Pandora) are enjoying a free run of almost half the farm, so they have shelter, grazing and stream water to drink - and are very happy with their lot.

The Humans

It is seriously hard work walking, or more importantly, trying not to fall over, on snow and ice!  Having 30 layers on does not help with mobility either...  Roll on the  "Great Thaw"!

We do hope to see you soon.
